Based on intensity of illness or some period i am totally confusing about the treatment. i am having from last 6 years this treatment and am getting side effects with all mediciens, and I have changed 4 doctors in this 6 years. please suggest me what I have to do?
There is not enough information for an accurate answer to this question. What is your condition and what is the medication prescribed?
A general rule is that psychiatric medications will take 4-8 weeks to provide full effectiveness, except for those with an immediate response such as Amphetamines, Opiates, Benzos, and Barbiturates.
Hello chandumanchala. If I understand your question correctly it depends on your diagnosis, how severe it is. You've had four doctors within a six year period of time most possibly changing your drugs or doses. Its a matter and this holds to be true more often than not, finding the right doctor, or therapist. You should tell your present doctor what you are feeling and the concerns you have about your present medication(s). regards, pledge
It can take time to find the right medication, or combination of medications to treat psychiatric problems. Anymore a lot of pysch patients are on a combination of meds. Are you in therapy? Medications can't do it all - at times they can help us enough so we can learn how to help ourselves. I found that treatment with the right therapist, along with medication, improved my life greatly. Also, if depression is part of your symptoms you might check into TMS therapy - Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. It uses MRI technology to aim the magnet/electricity to the part of the brain that needs more stimulation. I know it has helped me, and there are no medications involved. It is expensive, but I hear insurance companies are starting to pay for it. I hope you can find what you are looking for - keep on trying! - ElizaJane
its based on all kinds of things but tell me what you are on and how you feel. tell me how you would like to feel, I need a little more info from you then maybe i can help. did all 4 of your doctors give you the same thing? and what is their opinion of you? what is your diagnosis?in 6 years what name do they say you got? like depression, or something like that? let me know.
You've asked a very open answered question that simply can't be answered with the information that you supplied. Are you depressed? It takes four weeks for an antidepressant to work to it's fullest, and then the least amount of time is six months on it. That along with talk therapy. Are you in pain which causes the depression? Then you are looking at trying to take care of the pain, and psychiatric medications are excellent pain relief. Do you have a psychological problem? Then, it might be permanent. Do you see what I am trying to get at? Your question was very nebulous for us to try and help you. Pledge was most on target that you have to talk to your doctor about the possibilities. If you give us more information, perhaps we can guide you, but certainly not with the info you have written.
