I've been on birthcontrol for a long time and I recently had sex with my boyfriend and he came inside me. I was on my first day of pills and I had my period before hand. I'm wondering if I'm protected. Do I need plan b?
If you have been taking it, and correctly, you don't need to worry about days you're back on it. Don't worry about when you have your period and just keep on taking the pills, you are protected at all times and certainly don't need plan b. And where he comes has nothing to do with whether or not someone can get pregnant, pulling out is not a method of birth control, but you don't need anything else anyway. Just tell your friends that. You just remember that there are no days you aren't protected when you are on the pill, oh, forgot one thing, if you're put on antibiotics, you need to use back up birth control for the time you are on the antibiotics, because they decrease the effect of the pill.
If you have been on them for a long time and you have been taking them correctly, then you should not have to worry , you should be completely fine. I wouldn't worry about when you had your period as long as you are taking the pills correctly. and PLEASE don't take the plan B unless you really have to, this can really mess up your cycle, not to mention what the large amount of hormones can do to you... If you are taking your pills correctly, they are 99.9% or more effective in preventing pregnancy! Hope this helps. Good luck! :))
