I have major depression since I was 15. I used imipramine 150mg for 22 years. They tried at least 15 new meds the last 7 years. Done have worked. I just wanted to know how many there is because they seem to be rejecting my nerons and are not making the right connections. Is there a reason for them MANY not doing anything? That is why I asked How many antidresants are there and what are my odds are for being put on one that will make my nerotransmitters make contact" I am seeing a doctor.
Hi, racingthought! As the others have said, there are several different classifications of AD's, so really there are dozens. It took a long while and many tries to find what works well for me, but I'm on a combination of a couple of different meds. For some people, adding an anti-psychotic such as Abilify, Seroquel, or one of the newer meds can really help. Best wishes! Hope you can find something that helps you. WC
