Friend has severe radiation burns from treatment for tongue cancer. Insurance (AmBetter) won't pay for the Biotin, even though his doctor recommended it. Know that manufacturers sometimes send coupons to help with the cost of their products. The burns on the side of his neck are painful and the only thing he can put on it is Aquaphor. He has to take a Lortab when he cleans his neck because it hurts so bad.
His dr needs to order something for the burns and for the mouth. There is a mouthwash made with nystatin and lidocaine that has been used for years. Insurance does pay for this. Biotine is just a moisturizer. The dr is a poor excuse for a dr if he can't come up with something better for radiation burns.
