I am male 20 and I just finished a 6 month course of claravis I got my wife pregnant 13 days after being done will there be any birth defects?
The information I was able to find suggests a woman should be off of the medication for at least one month. I could not find a y information regarding your situation. I would get my wife to an obstetrician right away to determine the statistics regarding birth defects, if any, in the partner being on claravis. The pharmacist might be your best resource person at this point. I would give the dispensing pharmacy a call for the much needed information.
Good luck, hope all is well.
Claravis is found in the semen of male patients taking Claravis, but the amount delivered to a female partner would be about 1 million times lower than an oral dose of 40 mg... which is virtually negligible.
You have no need to worry.
The precautions used to prevent birth defects apply to female patients only who are taking Claravis.
