I am required to take this drug for work even though I dont get bitten and am worried about the side effects so far they have given me 3 options, malarone, larium and doxycycline but say we can choose another alternative that is as effective as these 3. I have been told by others who have taken preventive drugs as these that they get constant headaches, stomach pains and 1 guy had a mental breakdown. Could you please help, I wish there was a natural approved drug, I hope there is thanks.
It is important that you choose an effective anti-malarial medication as there is a reasonably high risk of catching malaria in Papau New Guinea. It is important for you to realise that whilst unfortunate, what happened to your friend,it is not necessarily going to happen to you.
