... 15 years. My extensive cocktail of drugs with 30mg of Lexapro and 2.5 mg of Abilify, 25mg Desipramine, 900 mg Neurontin and 75 mg Topamax was doing a serviceable job for a few years. But in the past two months I have reentered the Dark Hole. My doctor added Rexulti 5mg and eventually wants to take away some of my other meds and lower some dosages. My question is: Has anyone else taken Rexulti? And was it a positive experience? Many thanks and keep fighting the good fight :)
Hi. I too am on a cocktail of meds for my treatment resistant depression. I was in bed for several months straight because of my depression and crying about ridiculous things; imagining words case scenarios... etc... I've been on everything just about, until my doc put me on 40mg prozac, 10mg Zyprexa... and many others, but the prozac/Zyprexa combo has changed my life in the past few weeks. Now, there is a combo med for this called Symbyax, however, it's EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, especially when it's just easier to control dosing of the prozac/Zyprexa separately. Most insurances will not cover Symbyax either. I have MAJOR DEPRESSIVE DISORDER, SOCIAL ANXIETY, ADHD, PTSD, PANIC ATTACKS, A HISTORY OF TRAUMA AND NIGHT TERRORS, AND MORE... I AM ALSO ON: Xanax, Prazosin, klonopin, amitriptyline, Adderall XR, Haldol as needed for agitation, Cogentin for the side effects of Haldol, clonidine, mirtazapine, and just detoxed ON MY OWN (with instructions from my psychiatrist) off of TWICE the FDA RECOMMENDATION--450MG OF EFFEXOR XR... WHICH IS ONE OF THE MOST HORRIBLE DRUGS to come off of! All that said- -I highly recommend mentioning Symbyax, which is prozac and Zyprexa mixed and trading all the other meds your on. Getting weaned off slowly though. That's my advice. I'm a different person on Prozac and Zyprexa. But given individually, one of them alone would make my condition worse. Hope this helps!
