... it all my
life, now I'm 50 and my condition has worsened to where I'm drinking the mag.citrate. Took it over 24 hrs. ago, nothing. Going to the doctor doesn't help. They really can't do anything for me. I've been told I can not get cancer with this kind of a condition. Hmm, I wonder. Enemas stool softeners & herbs don't help. I have experienced, after 4 wks. of no b.m., that it just comes out by force... loose. I usually end up sick to stomach though... sitting in the bathroom for 2 hrs. going and my heart racing, sweating profusely, nauseated and on the verge of fainting. No doctor has helped me thus far and won't take me into the hospital just to clean me out. Can anyone out there help me?
Magnesium Citrate - I too have a history of not having a bm for 2, 3 sometimes 4 wks. at a time. Had

I'm not sure about your history, but a lot of people who suffer chronic constipation their whole life actually have IBS-C, Irritable Bowel Syndrome conistipation, which I had before and ended up on medication that causes it now. A urologist can treat you for this, prescribe medication to keep your system regular. took medication for mine that kept me very loose
I am sorry if this answer comes later then when you looked for help but I felt an answer should be put here. I am a could yrs younger then you, so we are not far apart there... but the biggest flag you raised was the words cancer and doctor.
You said no doctor had helped you, but severe constipation that appears idiopathic (no apparent cause to say) should be researched as it isn't just indicative of cancer, there are other diseases it could be a symptom of... thyroid problems, lupus, parkinsons, diabetes and MS to name several. Blood tests and often an MRI are needed to fully diagnose them...
Then you brought up sitting on the toilet where it comes out by force which to me means you push hard. Kkyou then run the risk of female rectocele, a condition in which the tissue wall between the rectum and vagina weakens (for females) or, although rare, an actual rectal prolapse, a condition that occurs when part of the large intestine slips outside the anus.
So, there really is treatment and you should be concerned... and laxatives are not a treatment unless it is prescribed by your doctor for long term constipation, they can and do make it worse over the long run... trust me.

I took Magnesium Citrate yesterday at 3:20 p.m. Didn't have a bowel movement until 10:00 p.m., then?
