Vanessa, bless yer sweet heart you've had a time of it haven't you. The Mention of Cymbalta: that is used by a lot of us pain sufferers because it seems to lessen the pain while elevating our moods a little. The brain is a complex thing. My prayers go out to you. One more thing: whenever I hit a brick wall and can't find a solution, I do this: surrender to God and ask for guidance. Life is hard but we are never alone. You hang in there friend.
Medication to take pain away has many different facets. For instance, if you take pain relieving medicine to take the pain away its working to take the direct pain away but you may need to add an anti-inflammatory aspect to your treatment. You may have to hit pain from more than one angle. Pain is very complicated and its any wonder that we don't have much more pain just going through life. You can add a muscle relaxer to help muscles release the nerves and that can help, you can add an anti-inflammatory medicine to help with inflamed nerves, you can take hot baths or use heat over the area to help with pain. Talk to your doctor and ask him or her for a more comprehensive pain management plan. Or, secondly, it may just be that you need to increase the pain medicine by small increments until you get more relief.
I don't know if you can take aspirin and you have to talk to your doctor about that but aspirin is a wonderful anti-inflammatory and it helps with pain in addition to your pain medicine itself. Ok hope this helped.
