Diagnosed with fibro. Prescribed Cymbalta. Having problems and doesn't seem to work. I've heard Lyrica is good for fibro. Has anyone tried them both and could recommend one over the other?
Is Lyrica or Cymbalta better for fibromyalgia? Ty?

They aren't exclusive, both are usually taken at the same time. They aren't the same kind of med. I was on lyrica, while it worked I had a lot of side effects.
I cannot take Lyrica for the side effects. It got bad and I was told to immediately stop taking it. Later on a different doctor tried me out on Horizant which is gabapentin with an added ingredient so that it goes into your system differently. All I had was side effects from both. I tell folks I'm allergic to Lyrica because of how it made me feel. I've been on Cymbalta 60 mg for some time already and it does seem to numb the pain some, but even at 1 pill in the a.m. and one at bedtime it doesn't totally take away my fibro pain. It just tones it down. I should also mention I suffer from psoriatic arthritis as well. My pain dr. has me on Cymbalta 60 2 x a day and 1 50 or 100 mg of Trazodone at bedtime for insomnia and pain. I don't know that it helps the pain, but I sleep like a baby usually on 50, but there have been nights that my brain wouldn't stop talking to me and I got up and took the other half (he Rx's 100mg pills for this reason and I either cut them in half or not). So in answer to your question: Lyrica may help you, the side effects were awful for me. I will keep my Cymbalta.
