... neck and headaches for 2 days before and after starting the meds. I work out side labor work never missed a day so when can I GO BACK TO THE GYM and go back to my normal routine or do I have to rest for some time ? I'm a very active person and feel fine, skipped the gym for a week but feel ready to go back, should I wait if so how long?
Does your doctor know that you work outside labor? Did he warn you about being in the sun while on antibiotics? Be sure to use a good sunblock with an SPF of at least 30. I know you are used to being in the sun, but while on these antibiotics you will still burn easily. As far as the gym goes, your doctor should make that call. I imagine (s)he will tell you that if you feel up to it, fine. If you do go to the gym, it would be wise to slowly work yourself up to your normal workout routine. Don't try to go full kilter the first day. And hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! If you begin feeling weak or poorly in any way, stop and go home. Don't push it! Feel better soon!
My friend Kathy stole my answer, so all I'm going to say is please don't push it at the gym, you could become fatigued again or bring on more infection if your defenses are down, so easy Tiger!
Ask your doc, like Kathy said, about your gym. Don't want you becoming sick again and Lyme is not something to muck about with, as you know.
Best wishes to you,
Using weights is good for you, but respect your fatigue.
I don't feel comfortable saying this because I don't have any research to back it up. I had it and didn't know it. I didn't have any restrictions of exercise. As a matter of fact, lifting weights was suggested, as long as I didn't overdue it. We're not talking about me. We're talking about you.
I'd feel a lot better if you talk to your doc. We're talking about a potentially serious infection, as you probably already know. I wouldn't take this lightly. Stay steady until you talk to your doc. I'm here and so are all of us. And we know you'll be here for us. A dozen roses, Anna
