Started Luvox over a month ago. Want to up my dosage from 100mg to 125mg. The current pills I have are 100mg. I also heard not to split up the pills? Not sure how to split them up to equal 125mg? Should I request different increments? I was also told that if taking over 100mg you need to break it up twice a day? Not sure how you break up pill equally for 125mg?
Luvox comes as a continuous release and in immediate release formulas. The CR is a capsule so I suspect you have the other. The immediate release pills are scored down the middle. So you can break a 100 in half, but the pills are small and it is going to be difficult for the halves to be split further. So you have 50mg halves to work with or ask the doctor for the 25mg pill. The pills come in 25, 50, and 100mg dosages. The recommended increment increase is 50mgs not 25. So with doctor approval you could increase to 150mgs at bedtime unless the doctor wants to give you 25's and you could do 75 and 75.
Luvox goes up in 50mg increments. Breaking the pill in half is fine as you can see it is scored just for that purpose. And you can take the whole dose all at once not have to break it up in two part of your day. Make sure you talk to your doctor before increasing it though! Best of luck!
You can take it once a day. It would be very difficult to cut a pill in 1/4. It is usually increased in 50mg increments. Talk to your dr.
