The dr is going to put me on antibiotics. Im on Lutera just took my first placebo pill and I understand when you are on antibiotics you want to use condoms as a backup contraceptive. Since im taking my placebo pills do I need to use condoms still? Will the antibiotics screw up my period?
You need to use condoms as back up the entire time you are on antibiotics and for seven days after. Taking antibiotics can lessen the effects of the Lutera and you could ovulate and therefore get pregnant. Most antibiotics are going to be a 10 day course so that gives you 17 days of using back up which is longer than your placebo pills. You should still use back up if you have sex, even on your placebos. The anitbiotics may make your period last longer (then again, it may not)
