I am a 16 year old male. I can feel a bulging discomfort in my lower right rib cage, it feels as though behind the ribs. It doesn't cause pain or irritation and i can forget about the feeling if i dont think about it. But it is always there. I cannot feel this lump thing externally with my hands, only a feeling i get under my skin/bones. I need help clarifying what this is. I have seen a G.P. and am waiting for xray results. I would just like second opinions in the meantime. Thankyou
Second opinion one: I am deeply disturbed by you feeling you have a lump behind your rib cage. That is one part of your body that you want to feel normal. If it was on the outside I might suggest gynecomastia or breast cancer (surprisingly common in men). On the inside it makes me think of small cell carcinoma and you don't want that as it is a death sentence.
Take care, don't worry until your Doc' gives you reason to; the simplest explanation and outcome is usually correct and so, it is probably something harmless.
If I read correctly ...
You don't have symptoms and accidentally felt it.
It could be just an anomaly that you were born with like having extra bone in that area. It could be a lipoma which is a fatty benign tumor under your skin. It usually occurs on the fatty parts of your body though.
You are a healthy 16 year old. Don't worry about things in life until you have something to worry about.
Don't trouble trouble until trouble troubles you!
Lol... You did the right thing by going to the doctor. You did your part.
Please give us feedback after you find out.
