Went to outpatient at hospital for lp. Had blood work under xray they attempted lp in 3 areas and was digging around alot. Couldn't get any spinal fluid. In such pain today don't know what to do any suggestions would help. All ready take 10mg hydrocodone for cervical problems. Can barely walk or stand. Anyone ever have this happen?
I don't know what an Ip is. Can you explain? It sounds like the Dr. was doing a spinal tap to get Cerebral Spinal Fluid or CSF. For the pain, have you tried putting cold on it several times a day? The sore areas have been traumatized and may be swelling. Cold also relieves pain while it's working. Be careful not to contaminate the entry points for the spinal fluid draws during icing them. Cover them with a band-aid and an antibiotic underneath that or follow any directions your Dr. has given you. Possibly you can ask your prescribing Dr. for the hydrocodone to icrease it just for a few days while you're in pain from the procedure.
