I will be 20 on the 16th of jan. and I sometimes find pain in my lower right abdomen. I have been reading about it. I am not pregnant, I am just starting my period. it doesn't feel worse doing anything itll come and go. this has been happening on and off since I started to gain weight. again, not pregnant. I have no loss of appetite or neausea. I do have irregular bowel movements. No fever and no pain when I pee. I just wanna figure out what it is, its kind of an annoying pain. thanks.
You didn't mention how long months or years... but if you are not in acute distress or running a fever it's ok.
I'll mention some of the possibilities but you know you need to go to a doctor for a diagnosis. Exam, labs, urine, etc are necessary.
- you may have a cyst on your ovary. Not to worry... cysts may get larger in size during certain times of your cycle. It's why you feel it coming and going. Have you had a gyms exam yet?
- appendicitis... it is possible to have it "brewing" before it gets serious. I think you would feel sicker with fever but it's a possibility.
- you mentioned irregular bowel movements. You may have diverticulosis or irritable bowel syndrome. It's very important to establish a regular routine using good bowel health especially since you are only 20.
- It's possible to have a small kidney stone or UTI. Again I think you would feel worse and perhaps notice a low grade fever.
If anyone can add anything, please do.
The only way is to go to a doctor the sooner rather than later. You don't want to turn a little problem into a big one.
Good comment, Windchimes!
Hi Chelse: I also suffered from pain in my lower right abdomen. I had tests and x-rays, got an ultrasound for my ovaries, colonoscopy, etc. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. Doctor said most people have pain in lower left abdomen when it is diverticulitis, but I am not most people! It took months after diagnosis and treatment for the pain to finally go away. I would definitely go get diagnosed if I were you. And start a treatment, rather than letting it get worse eventually. My pain came and went and came and went and came back and got worse - OUCH! You will be saving yourself a lot of misery in the long run if you go now and get it over with. Let us know how you're doing, OK? G
