So I have a low thyroid and was wondering if I took the plan b pill would it work or would it be ineffective?
Found some info on the Double Check MD website, that says taking Plan B when you have an underactive thyroid:
'... may cause subtle or extreme loss of energy; sluggisheness; hoarse voice; heavy menstruation; puffy face/eyes; pale, dry skin; weight gain; sensitivity to cold; constipation; muscle aches/stiffness/weakness; increased cholesterol levels; anemia; hearing loss; elevated CK/creatinine phosphokinase; abnormal liver blood tests; thinning of the hair and eyebrows; loss of body hair; depression; decreased body temperature; coma):
Lack of energy/fatigue.'
The Healthtap website states that the Plan B will still be as effective against pregnancy as for a person without Thyroid problems..
I have hypothyroidism as well and I had taken Plan b in August 2015 with no side effects right after, however prolong side affects happenend, cramps, bloating, moodiness, back aches (period symtoms). but nothing out of the ordinary. Mind you I am still waiting for my period, my last period was August 15-19. It should work for you no problem I made sure to ask the pharmacist if it wouldnt work he said their shouldnt be any issues.
