I take Enalapril Maleate to treat high blood pressure, 20mg once a day. For some time i have been dealing with a heart rate that will go up, sometimes during or after psysical activity, other times without significant activity. Enalapril is supposed to raise potassium levels but in blood tests mine comes back low (2.9-3.1). At those times i try to raise the level by eating bananas, drinking pure orange juice, etc, but upon testing again it usually only goes up to 3.3 which is below normal. Not sure why this is happening. Blood tests don't show anything that would point to kidney problems. Also wondering if the low potassium level could cause the fast heart rate.
