can carbamazepine - chronic use (over 40 years) and recent use of tramadol drastically reduce platelets in a patient with chronic kidney disease (stage 4)?
I also have been on Carbamazepine(for 12 yrs) & it can cause thrombocytopenia(low platelets, although i have not experienced this from taking it).I had my spleen removed yrs ago due to idiopathic thrombocytopenia, (idiopathic meaning of unknown origin) I haven't found any research to substantiate any platelet problems from taking tramadol.
I hope that this will @ least answer part of your question.
