my sugar has not been over 111 for 2 weeks since being changed from Actose 15 mg per/day to Metformin 1000 mg per/day
Normal range for type II is 70 to 120. Your A1c is most informative as it says how you are over time.
My question to you is when are you taking the reading? Before meals is correct time. And before bed. So readings should be 4 times per day especially when switching to a new medication of any type. Many meds can cause blood sugar spikes including a lot of antibiotics.
Of course, when low you need to take orange juice, honey, candy to get your numbers back to normal. Multiple testing needs to be done about every fifteen to twenty minutes. Don't worry about too high at that point as you will regulate soon. If too high, over 200, follow your doctors instructions.
Thanks for asking an important question. Take care.
