I will not be on coumadin for 5 days prior to biopsy. I am using a pacemaker and taking coumadin because of an irregular heart beat.
Should lovenox be used for a prostate biopsy?

It will depend on your doctors. I would prefer to be on Lovenox to bridge the Coumadin until 1-2 days before the biopsy and a few days after, 3-7 days depending on how well the procedure went and how quickly your INR level returns.
If the real question that you are asking is if it is a good idea that your doctor put you on Lovenox before the biopsy, then the answer is yes.
