I'm a T2 diabetic, but was on insulin for a year and a half. I managed to not gain for most of that time, but after a course of steroids and strong antibiotics, I started to gain rapidly. Since my diabetes was well controlled, my Dr decided to let me try Victoza. We both hoped that it would help start some weight loss. I took it for 4 mos until my ins made it non formulary and my cost increased. Initially I lost 4 lbs in the first 2 weeks, but it didn't last and I gained it back. It did do a good job with bg control, Now I am taking Bydureon. It is the same type of drug. It has allowed me to come off insulin completely, but still no weight loss. I guess some of us are just not meant to lose weight. You're not doing anything wrong. Insulin makes it harder to lose weight, even when we do the work and eat right. Are you exercising? it might help with weight and it definitely will help with bg nos
