I found this information for you. I would ask your doctor if it is safe to take more than what was prescribed.
Important information about acetaminophen
Do not use more acetaminophen than is recommended. An overdose can cause serious harm. The maximum amount of acetaminophen for adults is 1 gram (1000 mg) per dose and 4 grams (4000 mg) per day. Taking more acetaminophen could cause damage to your liver. If you drink more than three alcoholic beverages per day, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine and never use more than 2 grams (2000 mg) per day.
Good luck to you on your upcoming surgery. I hope you start feeling better soon.
As usual my friend christine here is correct but Lortab does have Tylenol in it so you may not be able to take more Acetaminophen. 4 grams a day is too much to take, Acetaminophen is damaging to the liver. Please do consult your doctor before taking anymore Acetaminophen than what is in the Lortabs. Good luck with the surgery, I have had a few friends that have had hip and knee replacements and have done great, my prayers are with you, marjorie zych
