Does Klonopin work better to treat anxiety than Lorazepam and Xanax? Thank you
This question has also been asked and answered here: Lorazepam vs Xanax: What is the difference?
From my experience, I have taken all of the benzodiazepines you mention and Xanax (alprazolam) and Ativan (lorazepam) work best for my anxiety, having said that we all react to medications differently.
Lorazepam is used in the treatment of anxiety; insomnia; nausea/vomiting; sedation; panic disorder, and belongs to the drug classes benzodiazepine anticonvulsants, benzodiazepines, miscellaneous antiemetics.
Xanax is used in the treatment of anxiety; depression; panic disorder; tinnitus; dysautonomia and belongs to the drug class benzodiazepines.
Klonopin is used in the treatment of anxiety; bipolar disorder; panic disorder; seizure prevention; periodic limb movement disorder and belongs to the drug classes benzodiazepine anticonvulsants, benzodiazepines.
I started out with Xanax, then Klonopin and now Ativan, which has worked really well for my anxiety.
Now as you can read, all 3 treat anxiety, and as I said we are all unique and react to medications in different ways (benefits, doses, risks, possible side side effects, interactions, etc.).
I cannot speak for Xanax, but Lorazepam works much better for me than Klonopin.
Just my experience, yours will vary.
