Lorazepam belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines. It affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with anxiety. The usual adult dose for anxiety in adults is 1 to 2 mg orally 2 to 3 times a day. Lorazepam should be used for only a short time.
Common lorazepam side effects may include: dizziness, drowsiness, weakness,
slurred speech, lack of balance or coordination, memory problems; or feeling unsteady.
Signs of an overdose include:
Extreme drowsiness or trouble staying awake
Slurred speech or confusion
Lack of muscle coordination
You should talk to a health professional if you think you have been given too much or seek medical attention immediately if experiencing any of the above symptoms.
