Hello tigerpaws, by the way love the name, & welcome to the site. I am from the era of the Vietnam conflict, & lost many relatives & friends that I had gone to school with. My son at the age of 17 cut off his fingers with a power saw accident, & is now 44 years old so I don't doubt your pain whatsoever. I saw him holding his hand in the air, & scratching one day & asked him what he was doing. His response was his fingers itched! He had phamtom pain for quite a few years, & still may. He doesn't complain much to Mom these days. I don't think there is a pain pill such as a narcotic that can help this problem. You are on a high dose of gabepentin right now & the lorazapam being for anxiety you would think be helping you. I don't have a really good answer for you, but hopefully one of our more highly educated people in this area might come along a give you a better suggestion.
I just feel if you start on narcotic type pain pills, you will be trading one thing for another such as addiction. That a place you don't want to be my friend. I just noticed I can only answer this one time, & wish I had researched a little more what our forums are on the site. I don't know if there is one for your condition, but also try there. It's listed at the top in blue. I wish you all the best, & thank you for all you have sacrificed for others freedoms, & service to our country...
There is an excellent med that for some reason don't inform us about. It's called (so sorry, I forget how to spell it). Sounds like 'new centa! WARNING! It is very expensive, my perscription was denied by medicade ( but they do this w/alot of meds now). My best friend paied cash for it & let me say ' it was the pain relief I'v had in years! I'm in prosess of my dr completeing a pre-author form then I will only pay 3$ copay. I hope this helps!
