... prednisone because they don't have as much experience with prednisone alone; however,, prednisone has less side effects. I think I'd like to change over tomorrow from the prednisone to the prednisone dose pack that I have. Ideas and/or opinions?
I am reluctant to advise anything regarding steroids. I know you have to take very high doses for your hives, but steroids can cause so many issues at the high doses or when taken for a prolonged period. Honestly, only a doctor should answer your question and tell you which steroid and the dose you should take. I am curious. Did your doctor not leave his patients in the care of another "on call" doctor? That is who you need to ask, although the fill-in doc doesn't know your case and will probably tell you not to take the steroids at all. Your doctor should have left another doctor covering his patients. If he did not, then AB I'd be looking for another doctor who is more responsible. I'm sorry I couldn't help you, but I don't have the medical knowledge to advise you one way or the other. I hope you begin to feel better soon!
Hello. Was wondering how this turned out for you. Dose packs are fine to take. They are short term and cause no lasting effects. Prescriptions are far more tricky and you can have withdrawal symptoms. Prednisone is different from prednisolone. They are for different systems. Prednisone is inflammation and prednisolone is for skin and digestive.
So how are you doing?
