FML is an anti-inflammatory steroid eye drop and is used to treat eye swelling caused by infections, injury, surgery, or other conditions.
The length of time to which it is used will depend on what type of eye condition you are treating. For a short time if it's an acute condition or long term if it's a chronic condition. Your eye specialist is the best person to direct this question to.
