I've tried more anti-depressants than I can count, and they all made me very sick, the only thing that helps me with my panic attacks is Klonopin. I know it's not a good idea to be using benzos long-term, but I was wondering since I'm using benzos long term, if it'd be better to move to something that lasts longer, like Valium. I've also heard of Lyrica and other off-label treatment, which will be best?
I have had the same experience with antidepressant meds. They all made me sick. My Anxiety in the past was treated with a couple of different benzos successfully. The only way unfortunately, to find out which one is best for you is Trial and Error.
What works for some people may or may not work for you. I could offer my opinion on what I think works best, but how your chemistry works may not be the same as mine.
Now days I can not find a Dr. to prescribe any anti anxiety med. unless it is wrapped inside of an antidepressant.
Panic15; This is not really a problem if it is doing the job. Klonopin is one of the ones that stay in you longer you can talk with your doctor about other anti-depressants and use the Klonopin as needed. To me Valium wears off way to fast so stick with what is working just know you well have a time coming off of it but the doctor prescribing it for you should be able to help slowly get off over time. They put much more fear in people so those of us that need these medications are scared of them or can't get them because of the abuse and the media but if you could try like the Lyrica talk with your doctor if you find something that works for you then you can use Klonopin as a back up..Have a great day
