Hi all, this will be the 3rd night I'm taking temazepam 15mgs
I wasn't sleeping until 5am each morning awake entire night
It was my anxiety kept me awake, it's now helped me sleep thank god. I would like to know does anyone get their normal sleep pattern back my body is so out of wack or do I need to be on theses tablets rest of my life ?
I will be asking my doctor next week, but for peace of mind want to know, thank you
The rest of your life isn't realistic, especially because there is so much new information from sleep studies regarding non medication solutions everything from nutritional angles, habits, mid-day mild exercise, stress management, etc. It may also need more time to work for you. Hang in there, see what the Dr says, keep me posted if you like, again, pursuit of the other options can improve quality of life 10 fold.
Temazepam is a medication you don't want to use long term, possible 3 weeks the max as it is a benzo and you will build tolerance to it and need to keep increasing your dose to be able to sleep. Try exercising several hrs before bed, go through a sleep study to find the underlying cause.
Hi, i agree with Pamee, benzodiazepines can become habit forming very quickly and can also be very difficult to discontinue if you have been taking them for some time. You/your doctor might want to consider an alternative medication to aid sleep that can be used safely longer term. I was prescribed Amitriptyline in the past which was very helpful and i took it for about 4 years.
