I'm wondering how long would it take for the symptoms of a fentanyl overdose to become evident? How long do the effects of fentanyl last? Thank you in advance for your answers, I recently lost a loved one o a fentanyl overdose, and I'm trying to find answers. He had used fentanyl about 8 hours earlier, and was found still alive at the time (unfortunately, he didn't make it), and I'm wondering if that timeline seems a little off...
I am sorry to tell you, but trying to pinpoint the time of death of any kind of drug overdose would definitely require a medical professional as well as someone skilled in assessing that i.e. medical coroner. I do know that fentanyl is an extremely powerful drug - more potent per dose than morphine. I am really sorry for your loss. If someone directly related to the loved one would like to find this out, the very best way to begin would be to get all copies of medical records for that person - every record possible from ambulance / ems notes, ER, and all medical personnel that worked on him/her, and the lay them all out and put them in date and time order from the latest time forward.
