It's been amazing for me the past 16 or more yrs. I just turned 70 I am in good health feel good. I take adderall once a day. Is it time to stop Doc. Says no. I am not sure ???
Firstly, 70 just isn't old and if you are in good health with normal Liver function I can't see any reason why you would stop? You say the last 16 years have been excellent (which is excellent) and I'm inclined to agree with your doctor (who says don't worry). I'm generally anti-amphetamine (usually due to misuse) but in this case you sound so positive it is clearly excellent for you.
There are people here who having been trying to find a or a combination of medications that work for 5, 10, 15 and even 20 years. You have found something that works so well for you it would be a shame/tragedy to stop it (I'm actually jealous).
At some point you have to trust that the Doctor believes the benefits are greater than any potential risks. This is patently the case in your situation; I say enjoy life and let the Doctor worry if it is needed.
Not often I get to sign off with: Don't worry; be happy. Steve. :)
