I am a 29 year old female, and I have had Major Depressive Disorder for over 20 years, as well as Panic Disorder (for which I take gabapentin 600mg 2x daily, Vistaril as needed every 4 hours, and trazodone nightly). I was previously on Cymbalta 90mg daily, but weaned off due to it not being effective enough in treating my depression, and my doctor prescribed Wellbutrin. Now I'm wondering if I should have chosen the option of upping my Cymbalta dosage instead of trying Wellbutrin. I have been on it for about 3 days, but as a recently recovering alcoholic, it just so happened that I am also in the midst of a PAWS episode that began 3 days ago. I'm absolutely miserable. I am severely irritable (almost rageful), anxious and tearful, as well as experiencing intense mood swings. After doing some research myself on Wellbutrin, I have concerns. Could it be making the PAWS even worse? I also read on one site that it can negatively interact with trazodone (which my doctor also prescribes). Is this true? I'm also experiencing these weirdly inexplicable "jolts," almost like a brain shock, that occur every couple of minutes. I don't know how else to describe them, but they are of some concern to me. Additionally, can Wellbutrin exacerbate my Panic Disorder?
