Aloha and welcome... So it all depends on how many you were taking a day. But if you were taking them for 6 mths straight chances are you will feel some withdrawals. If you've never been thru detoxing of a narcotic pain med it feels like the flu. I would suggest a taper of reducing the amount you take everyday versesjust stopping because it's ver uncomfortable. You were prescribed it from your dr? You can always sit with foc and tell him/her that you want to stop taking it but your concerned about the withdrawls that you may or if lucky may not get. Most drs is supportive. I've taken percocet 10/335 for 2 yrs for bad headaches and jaw aches from an old jaw injury which was not set correct during surgery. I got to the point many times of being physically, emotionally, and mentally dependent on percocet. I went from about 16-17 pills a day, to 13, and now I'm taking 12 1/2 pills a day. I've failed many taper plans!!! But this one is the one that finally works. I reduce 12.5 mgs every 5 days. Uncomfortable very much Mabe 2 or 3 days out if the 5, but it's working. Support from family, friends and my Ohana(family)here at dc is what gets me thru. So all in all, I suggest a taper. Aloha and take care, leanne
