I'm on this medicine for my back pain and I have been on this for over a year now and my doctor is talking about changing me to something strong but at these time I just don't know
Depending upon your body's metabolism it might last 4-8 hrs.

I am. Not sure what you are asking. Percocet can test positive in your system for a much longer time than pain relief is effective. With having used this medication for a year , I would assume you would test positive for at least a couple of weeks or more
If your Dr is talking about increasing your Meds , it might be for a stronger longer acting drug that might be less harmful to the liver
He would prescribe a manner to switch the drugs safely
Oxycodone has a half life of 3–4.5 h. This means that it takes 3–4.5 h for your body to eliminate 50% of the amount of the drug taken. It would take about 48h for the drug to be fully eliminated and out of your system.
I have been taking 10mg Percocet for very long time..About 4 a day..Many times I have taken 5mg at 5am and passed a urine test at 1pm drinking a reasonable amount of water..One test was submitted to lab for security job. Another test was at a nuclear facility submitted to a lab. Based on this info 6 hours is minimum. Also to make sure I used to use a product called Clean Drink which has never failed me..It kicks in within one hour with 24 ounces of water but be prepared to pee like a maniac
My response would be since I've been on different medications is to talk to her doctor to get in and talk to the nurse about what she has been on and what she has now before she makes the decision on what the distance of driving would be or you want to take that should never drive on a pain medication
