I have social anxiety just wondering if paxil works.
Yes, Paxil works very well for some people. Unfortunately with this type medication, one size does not fit all. It is a trial and error sort of ordeal. When first starting a medication like Paxil it isn't uncommon to have some initial side effects which MAY include heightened anxiety, nausea, diarrhea and headache. This is usually mild and will subside within the first couple weeks. It takes upwards of a month to reach max effectiveness so you have to be patient. While the adjustment period sounds a bit rough, the end result, decreased anxiety is worth the effort. If for some reason Paxil wouldn't work for you, there are many other similar medications to choose from for this disorder.
It works, if it will work for you depends on if it's prescribed to you and after 2-3 weeks you believe it is helping you.
