I'm 37 years old and just had half of my teeth pulled (both top and bottom on left side) and will be going back in about 3 weeks to have the other half pulled. My teeth were badly damaged due to bad genetics and hypothyroidism. I will not be getting immediate dentures so I will be without teeth for 6-8 weeks. Initially I didn't have much pain but now have a persistent ache in my jaw. It's more annoying than it is painful. Just wondering how long I might experience this type of pain.
You definitely had a number done on yourself!!! The key to pain control is anti-inflammatories. I've only ever had my wisdom teeth pulled, and I suffered for about 3-4 days. Ice is big for reducing inflammation, so try to hold a washcloth full of ice inside a ziplock bag against the area. Not sure what the recommendation would be, but something like ice for 15 minutes then off for 30. Best of luck!
