I used to take cymbatla for pain but it makes me extremly tired. So I am switching to Effexor. Does anyone know how long it would take to work for pain? I know that Effexor is only used as an off label for it. Would it take the usual 6-8 weeks? or would it be faster than that?
Hi, lincolnwood! If not sooner, most people will be feeling positive effects by 3-4 weeks although it does take 6-8 weeks to reach full therapeutic levels. Because this is off-label for pain rather than depression/anxiety chances are you'll feel better sooner.
Best wishes, Wildcat
I am happy I ran across your post because I having been usijg Effexor for eight week now with significant improvements in depression, anxiety and chronic pain and other pain.
Pain was the firs thing to go for me. Day in and Day out I was so limited as to what I could do, do the chroinc pain issues. This is especially different to manage your life around... because life never stops.
I hope you find the effexor helpful. I started off using 0.75mg and am now at 225 mg. I do have side effects, but the benefits of the medication outweighs reconsidering if we need something different.
