The best thing to do is to see your dr. I had a shot of cortisone into my shoulder and walked out of the office pain free.
Weather changes are certainly one of the anomalies that affect bursitis. Repetitive movements of the affected joint can also bring on some inflammation. As kaismama mentioned... a cortisone shot can vastly improve the quality of pain... it has also worked for me. Rest can help, too.
So, don't over-work the affected area... apply moist heat or try the numbing affects of ice cold gel packs and ask your doctor if an anti-inflammatory, such as mobic, could be of benefit.
