Weather changes are certainly one of the anomalies that affect bursitis. Repetitive movements of the affected joint can also bring on some inflammation. As kaismama mentioned... a cortisone shot can vastly improve the quality of pain... it has also worked for me. Rest can help, too.
So, don't over-work the affected area... apply moist heat or try the numbing affects of ice cold gel packs and ask your doctor if an anti-inflammatory, such as mobic, could be of benefit.

Yes a cortisone shot should knock that pain out, my husband had a bad shoulder from pitching in baseball side arm for so many years and then had a dirt bike accident and experienced alot of pain in his shoulder and elbow for some time but after he had the shot the pain has completely gone away... It was aggravated for many years to from being a mechanic and constantly having to reach up handling tools... Get that shot and too you can use icy hot rub 3 times a day for 4 days before and after and you will get relief...
