I've been using the fluorouracil 5% on my forearms as directed for going on a week; i was directed to use it for 14 days yet I haven't had any changes in my skin, no irritations. How long does it take for the skin to become affected with irritation?
I've read that it takes a little longer on your arms than on the face. I didn't really notice the reaction on my face until day 9 of 14. 9 - 21 were pretty rough days but it's just a couple of weeks. Have a good attitude and take photos daily so you can document your progress/improvement.
I just finished two weeks of treatment on left forearm and am week one on right forearm. By day 9 on left forearm several places were very red and starting to sort of welt up. At day 14 some were clearly “sores”. It appears the right forearm is progressing the same way. Additionally, one week post treatment, the left forearm areas are continuing to react by scabbing etc. Hope this helps. My issue has been having a combination of cold and or mild flu symptoms and will post a question regarding that soon.
