Hello I've had recurring abscessed boils on my face for about a year now. One on the forehead was determined to be a carbuncle, and was surgically removed. After that I got a prescription for Augmentin of which I only took about 3 pills and I'm now wondering for how long to take these antibiotics, because I'm getting more breakouts of those boils?
blacksun; I don;t know why you would only take 3 pills and stop. When the doctor prescribes the order you are to take it until it is gone just as it says on the bottle this is why you are still having problems. get back on them, Make sure when you get a prescription filled to talk to the pharmacist if the doctor is not clear enough you never just take a few pills of the order even more so on an antibiotic.
