Started may 27th 2015. Still experiencing alot of flare up pain from gout
This depends on how bad your flare up is. Is this your first flare up? For me with allopurinol about a day or two.
The thing that helped me with this problem after eight long year's of multiple break outs with this. I found a doctor that cared enough to try. This is what we did. She sent me to a foot specialist. I am sorry I forget the proper name. But the result was to be placed on colchicine for one year. Since I have done this and have been on a daily dose of allopurinol I have not had a break out in five years. I even eat a steak here and there. Just make sure your doctor checks your blood level for the uric acid. My doctor recently had to increase my dose. So important to monitor. Yes I know we all hate this but five minutes of walking helps. That time will increase as you feel like you are doing it for a purpose. Anyways I hope I helped.
