In a human, a bag should hang no longer than 24 hours after spiking. In a cat though? I would ask the veterinarian. It is probably somewhat the same since it is due to possible bacterial contamination that you discard a bag after 24 hours. If you can, get a smaller bag so that you are not wasting a lot of fluid. You can get 100ml and 250ml bags rather than a 500ml or 1000ml bag-this way you arent wasting as much. It sounds like you have a pretty sick little kitty and you dont want to expose her to any more bacterial contamination.
