I just turned 21 in August and was supposed to go back in the same month to get my second Depo. Me and my partner decided to try and conceive. I didn’t have a period for about 6 months before and it’s been 2 months with no birth control at all almost. I haven’t had a period in about 10 months now and am not sure what to do. I also have endometriosis tho my gyno hasn’t actually checked herself and she hasn’t checked me to cysts or to see how bad the endo is. What should I do?
The Manufacturer advises that it can take up to 18 months to regain your fertility, after even just 1 shot of Depo Provera. There are accounts from women on this Site, who've experienced an even longer wait than that.
If you get checked out by your doctor, & she thinks you should be able to conceive despite your other problems, then it's just a case of waiting for the Depo Provera to leave your body, & your hormones to re-balance themselves.
I used Vitex to get my periods back into a regular, monthly cycle. You might want to do some research on that, & chat to your doctor about trying that. you don't need a doctor to prescribe it. You can get it online or at a health store. It got me back into a regular monthly cycle after using it for 6-8 weeks. That was after being off Depo Provera for a couple of months.
