... coming sunday. should i be looking for a period after the first month? or is it just going to come and go when it wants like its been doing?
It is really hard to tell someone just starting a medication like this whether or not it will work right away. In order for this medication to work the best, it should be started exactly when the doctor instructed and be taken as close to exact 24 hours apart as possible without skipping any active pills. You will be safe as far as pregnancy goes after the 21rst properly taken active pill. Side effects that may occur, such as nausea, will usually go away by the 3rd month of taking them, should they occur at all. Many women do skip a period either occasionally or have a light period at any point during the inactive pills. If you skip the period altogether, please don't panic, start the next pack when you are supposed to.
It most likely wont automatically make your periods regular. Since most birth control pills take a pack or two to get your body used to them, i'd give it a little longer .If it doesn't get regular after a pack or two, it might not be the right one for you. If so talk to your doctor about switching to another pill or type of birthcontrol.
