Ive been on Loestrin 24 fe for almost three months now, im currently going to take the third brown pill or "reminder"pill and i still havent got my period. My concern is that my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex and he ejaculated inside of me. Can i still be pregnant?
If you were on the pill at least seven consecutive days without missing any pills or being on any antibiotics (they reduce the effectiveness of the pill) before your sexual encounter, then you should be fully protected even if he ejaculates within you and even on your period week of placebo pills. After the initial seven day waiting period (some like to wait a full cycle of one month to be extra safe) condoms are more for STD protection than contraception. You dont need them if you are monogamous and sure your partner is STD free unless you tend to miss pills or take them late often, or you start antibiotic therapy. If you miss a pill, you need to use back up, like a condom, for seven days after the miss. If you start antibiotics, you need to use a condom while you are on the antibiotic and for seven days after you finish them before you are fully protected again. It is not unusual for you to be on the 3rd or 4th placebo pill before you start. On occasion, you may miss a period or have a very, very light one-just spotting. You may not bleed during your period week if you had breakthrough spotting earlier in the month. If you were to miss two consecutive periods then you should see a Dr.
