My caregiver, out of all the medicine I have there was a few pills or capsules left over in several bottles, so she was combining them, I noticed in my Cymbalta bottle several pills that looked different, so I looked them up and they were Lodine. Are Lodine and Cymbalta the same? I take Cymbalta for depression.
Hi Vic, they are not even remotely the same. Cymbalta (duloxetine hydrochloride) is used to treat major depression and musko skeletal pain while Lodine (etodolac) is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug to reduce inflammation.
You should get your caregiver to unmix your medications. Older scripts may have lost some of their effectiveness and probably should be disposed after a time.
