I've been on this pill for about 4 1/2 months now and it gets more and more effective the more you're on it. I've never missed a pill and I'm good about taking it at the same time. I'm wondering if it's okay to stop using a second form of birth control and if I can rely on this pill to not get me pregnant.
With perfect use the Pill is 99.7% effective ( meaning less than 1 out of 100 women unintentionally become pregnant if used correctly). Perfect use means taking it correctly, taking it on time, not vomiting or having severe diarrhoea, or taking any other medications that might interfere with the Pill.
If you are taking your pill correctly then you will not need to use another method of contraception such as condoms to protect yourself from pregnancy. If you stop using condoms then you are not protecting yourself from STI's (sexually transmitted infections).
