I have cirrhosis due alcohol abuse. A doctor discover my disease during a gastric endoscopy she found varices. In further exams they found a discrete spleen enlargement. I am under propanolol and spironolactone. After 6 months in my last exams both spleen and varicies are shrinking my spleen diameter was 16 centimeters and now is 12. My child score is A and my MELD is 9. All my blood tests are fine. In the doppler they found all my blood flow speed really well an an MRI showed discrete changes but nothing scary according my doctor. One of my Hepatologysts told me that i will get worse and need a transplant in about 10 years but the other one doctor told me that i wont need any transplant. I dont know what to believe or what to think. Thanks for your help.
Have you stopped drinking? Your scores aren't high so you would have a fairly long time yet. No one can tell you if you'll ever need a transplant. If you didn't have any signs of it before the endoscopy you don't have much to worry about right now.
Stop drinking period point blank get help if u need it that is if you want to live my sister has it and she has been told one more drink and shes dead
