I'm looking for a private doctor not a methadone clinic. i can't seem to get any info via the internet or phone calls if someone even has a suggestion on a way to locate a doctor please let me know
As you are finding out this is no easy task. Anyone doing what they call "shopping" Doctors for a specific controlled substance is immediately labeled and rd-flagged.
Not sure what the situation is that has you on this search, but again I can tell you you're going to have a very hard time if you go about it this way. You probably do not want to hear it, nor does it sounds as though you have the time or patience (another red flag for them, not for me) is to get on board with a Dr who will learn your situation and prescribe what he/she feels is a good fit.
Sorry I can't be of more help. Hope this helps a bit though.
As the others have written, can almost guarantee you not going to find a private doctor who will perscribe I methodone especially if it's for opiate dependancy. The mandates on this through federal laws do not allow doctors to perscribe methadone for opiate dependancy on a take home bais very rare if not impossible. There are very strict guidelines sorry. On the other hand from what I have heard and in my state Massachusetts if it's for pain, several pain clinics are prescribing methadone for pain management. That could be the case in your state. A suggestion would be to contact area pain clinics and asked them what methods and medications they use for pain management.
